The Importance of Open-Source Environmental Data in Developing Countries: The Kenyan Case
This event explores the transformative potential of open-source environmental data in tackling global challenges, with a particular focus on its application in the Global South. Using Kenya as a case study, the event will demonstrate how accessible, transparent data can empower local communities, enhance climate resilience, and drive innovative solutions to environmental and public health challenges. Organized by the RESPIRA consortium, this initiative combines cutting-edge “data science” with participatory “citizen science” under the theme of the “Internet of Stories.” RESPIRA is dedicated to addressing air pollution through collaborative, interdisciplinary approaches (see RESPIRA Africa).
